Mobile Pantry is coming to your community!

Below please find information for the Northern Illinois Food Bank's "Mobile Pantry".  If you or someone you know could use a little help in the upcoming Holiday Season, please RSVP to the Hall by Monday, October 31, 2011, at 4 p.m. as we need to give a count to the Elgin Trades Council by that time.

Read the information below closely.  There is no charge to the families and this is on a first come first serve basis for up to 250 families.  The Food Pantry will not send out the mobile pantry without a minimum of 100 confirmed responses!

So, please, if you need help or there is someone in the Trades you would like to help, call ASAP to get on the list!  The only information required is the number of families that plan on visiting!

Northern Illinois Food Bank's Mobile Pantry is a "traveling food pantry" that delivers nutritious food directly to
people in need of food assistance.  This truck delivers meat, produce and nonperishable food to sites where people
need food. Equipped with six refrigerated bins, the Mobile Pantry is a critical way to get nutritious foods to hungry neighbors in northern Illinois!

Individuals are asked to bring bags, laundry baskets or boxes. There will be no charge to families in need of food assistance. Carts or wagons will also be helpful for transporting your food and grocery product through the line

In loving memory of
James L. Schnulle

WOODSTOCK – James L. Schnulle, 59, of Woodstock, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at his home in Woodstock.

He was born March 2, 1951, in Harvard, to Lester and Vera (Hildebrandt) Schnulle. He married Sandra L. Paulin on April 9, 1970. She passed away in January 1985.

He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1969-71, serving tours in Germany and Vietnam. He was an accomplished electrician by trade for 40 years, finishing his career with Associated Electrical Contractors in Woodstock, where he worked from 1990 until he retired in 2010. He was a member of the IBEW Union No. 117 for 21 years. He shared his talent and knowledge of electrical work by volunteering with the building and trades program at Woodstock High School.

He enjoyed fishing when he could get away from work and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Woodstock Moose Member, and will be remembered for his wit and his likeability.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his companion and "sweetheart" of 25 years, Carla; his children, Jeremy (Val) Schnulle, Josh (Leslie) Schnulle, Jason (Heidi) Schnulle, Christopher (Jessie) Hansen and Vonnie Hansen; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Morgan, Tristan, Harlee, Brooklyn Schnulle, Waylon Schnulle, Conner, Kylee, Mollie, Mariah and Nicholas Hansen; his brothers and sisters, Ronald (Liz) Schnulle, Vernon (Dawn) Schnulle, Fred (Brenda) Schnulle, Larry (Sharon) Schnulle, Robert (Gail) Schnulle, Richard (Barb) Schnulle, Sharon (Roger) Christianson, Carl (Rose) Schnulle, Harry (Bonnie) Schnulle, Susan (Roger) Stoerp and Paula (Larry) Weidner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra; two brothers, Edwin Schnulle and William Schnulle; two sisters, Sally Schnulle and Sandra Johnson; and two nephews, Luke and James.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the funeral home. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

BRIAN M. ANDERSON

Brian M. Anderson a lifelong resident of Hampshire.  The funeral service for Brian M. Anderson, 43, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Road, Hampshire, with Pastor Gerhard Mau officiating.  Burial will be in Hampshire Center Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the church and also on Monday, prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m.  Born September 26, 1967, in Sycamore, the son of Orlyn and Lavina (nee Buchholz) Anderson, he passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Stroger Hospital in Chicago, after a courageous battle with leukemia.  Brian was a 1985 graduate of Hampshire High School and was always participating in athletics, as well as fishing and hunting.  He married Paulette L. Gehringer on October 19, 1991, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire, and they are the proud parents of three children.  He adored watching Jori play soccer, racing snowmobiles with Brett and taking Russell hunting and fishing.  Mr. Anderson was an electrician by trade and a proud 15-year member of IBEW Local 117.  Surviving are his beloved wife, Paulette; his three children, Brett, Jori and Russell; his parents, Orylyn and Lavina; brothers, Kevin (Sue) and Jamey; nephews, Ryan, Mic, Kyle, Chase, Leo and Henry; nieces, Kelsey and Rileigh; his in-laws, Hank and Judy Gehringer; and sisters-in-law, Sandy (Frank) Cann and Sharon Gehringer.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith in 1980.  Please omit flowers.  Memorial contributions to benefit his children's education may be made to the Brian Anderson Memorial Fund, c/o Fredrick Funeral Home, P.O. Brother Steven Kaminski passed away on April 20, 2010 after a long battle with various health problems at the age of 55.

He will be waked at the Hitzman Funeral Home, 9445 31st Street, Brookfield, Illinois on April 28, 2010 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Gerhard J. Witthuhn
August 7, 1924 ~ March 16, 2010

 

Funeral services for Mr. Gerhard J. Witthuhn, 85, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin.  Burial with honors will follow in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin.  Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 18, 2010 and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Friday (March 19), at the funeral chapel.

Gerhard was born August 7, 1924, in Berlin, Germany, the son of Ernest and Antoinette Witthuhn, he passed away March 16, 2010.  Gerhard was a veteran, and served in the Marine Corps during World War II.  He was an electrician, and had worked for Nohl Electric many years prior to his retirement.  He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Elgin and the Local IBEW 117 for 60+ years.  Survivors include his wife, Ingeborg (Rohwedel) of Elgin; children, John (Karen) Witthuhn of Elgin and Susan Horton of Elgin; and grandchildren, Bradley Horton and Douglas Horton, both of Elgin.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
